August saw the start of the first semester of the Mechanical Engineering degree course in partnership with Unijuí Santa Rosa Campus. In this first class, 21 students, all KF employees, will take classes at the company itself during the 5-year course. The KF Academy is another great initiative to strengthen the training of employees and the entire region!

A family company arises, in Cândido Godói, Northeast of Rio Grande do Sul, having the patriarch Valdemar Kelm and sons Alceu Irineu Kelm (in memorian), Ademir Jair Kelm and André Daniel Kelm as partners. Their initial activities were only lathe, welding and sandblast services.

The beginning brought lots of difficulties, such as the lack of resources, the introduction of the company into a market with well-known brands, the uncertainties in the Brazilian economy. But the confidence in the potential of the company, the persevering work and the enterprising vision of its partners turned all of these obstacles into opportunities.

After the first challenges had been overcome, new concepts, ideas and opportunities came up. This way, the first line of products with brand KF was developed, including tilting platforms, fuel tanks, brushcutters and tractor canopies.

In the 90s, the Brazilian agriculture was going through changes. It was the change from conventional to no-till farming. A new business opportunity for KF, which developed kits that turned conventional planters into no-till machines. The idea was approved by the consumer market of the period and brought great results to the company.

With good acceptance of the machines in the market, it was decided to manufacture the first planters with KF brand. Next, the production of planters with 3 (three) to 7 (seven) rows began, all of them featuring attachment to the hydraulic three-point hitch system of the tractor.

Following the growing demand for products, a new manufacturing unit was constructed, what enabled the company to increase the competitiveness and effectively serve the consumer market of the period.

The new manufacturing unit, with 12000 m² is opened, with 2500m² of constructed area. With the new factory, the company could increase the production capacity, the quality of its products, improved the work environment even more, structuring a team of qualified professionals to better serve the clients.

Even with the economic crisis in the country, which affected the agribusiness sector as well, the company looked for the overcoming by releasing new products, diversifying its line even more, and expanding its area of operation towards new markets.

One of the highlights of this period was the release of TG Pantograph, which projected KF in important agricultural regions. This way, the company got out of this period with more power, expanding and empowering its brand in a great part of Brazil.

This was one of the most difficult years for the company. Not due to the economic aspect, but because of the tragic loss of a person who was loved by everyone, the then founding partner of the company, Mr. Alceu Irineu Kelm. Alceu was an a very determined entrepreneur, who never gave up on fighting for his dreams; he also had a pure heart, always seeking the common good.

Despite the loss, KF did not deviate from the goals established by the family since the beginning. The brothers and partners Ademir and André, with their wives Iracema and Elenir, respectively, join forces, along with the employees, to go ahead and continue in the business, even stronger.

This year, seeking qualification and agility in the production process, the company invested in the manufacturing area again, with new machines and infrastructure. Also, a training center was opened in honor of the loved brother Alceu Irineu Kelm (in memorian). Always thinking about the well-being of its employees, the company invested in a large cafeteria. The total area constructed is more than 5000 m².

Aiming to standardize, improve the production processes and the quality of the end product, Industrial KF seeked and achieved the certification ISO 9001:2008, validating the efficiency of the manufacturing processes of our products. In 2018 the company achieved the evolution to ISO 9001:2015

Besides export to Mercosul, KF stands out nationwide, winning important awards, such as Destaque Gaúcho Empresarial (Gaúcho Distinction Award), “Medal of Development Júlio Redecker”, granted by the Commission for National Integration, Regional and Amazon Development (CINDRA), and “Gerdau Melhores da Terra” Award, an award for technological innovation.

This year a big step in the growth of the company was taken. It was invested in the purchase of a land that, along with the current area, totals more than 50000 m², with 15000 m² of constructed area.

The company opens a new industrial park, besides investing in machines and equipment for the industrialization of raw material. In view of these achievements, an event was held in October to inaugurate this new industrial park, with the attendance of more than 6000 people.

Industrial KF increases, again, its productive capacity of machines and attachments, enlarging its constructed area from 15000 m² to 17250 m², to meet the increase in demand and to better organize the outside area of the factory. With the expansion, we installed new machines and created larger areas for assembly, storage of parts, warehouses and finished products.

The expansion brought the increase in production capacity, in addition to improving the working quality and the performance of the employees, enhancing the ergonomy in the processes of all sectors in the factory.

Industrial KF actively participates in fairs throughout Brazil, with the objective of being closer to its customers, taking launches aimed at small and large properties. With several resellers throughout the country and a strong commercial team, focused on the national market and on exports to several Latin American countries.
